This is Kanye West's at VH1 Storytellers show performing "Flashing Lights" one of my absolute favorite songs of all time! He tears up this song with a real live string orchestra, an amazing light display in the background and a sick rap performance! But the awesomeness of this concert wasn't the reason why I posted it...
After the second verse, as the motif of the song chills out and repeats, Kanye talks a little about his feelings and hardships that he's been through lately, particularly his mother's passing and an author's new book about her death, supposedly explaining the reasons behind it that "the media" covered up.
What kind of world do we live in where people, even authors, artists of literal intellectuality, are willing to bank on the death's of people, especially high-profile figures at the expense of crossing the boundaries of privacy and personal business? Everyone has the right to keep things private, even celebrities like Kanye West, who talks about this book with anger and pain...
You have to watch this to feel what I'm saying.
