Who I am and why I started this blog.

My name is Garry Santos (GS1), a Salvadorean-American, a christian and a Los Angeles native from birth. I'm a student at California State University, Northridge and major in Urban Studies and Planning, a discipline I'm very passionate about.

A few years ago I began to go through an intellectual revolution in my mind and being where I really started to understand of motives and reasons of how the world works, reading and studying the mass media, capitalism, business practices, ethics, humanitarian issues in 3rd world countries, crime, hunger, urban infrastructure, racism, ethnocentrism, class and elitism, social stratification; all this and other things summing up a general reality that unfortunately exists in our world... Social Injustice.

This blog is simply to spur a conscienceness of these issues and inspire righteous and impartial judgement within people, as well as an understanding of the importance of respect and love for our fellow neighbors =)

In September 2004, I went to see this movie with some friends, and I after I left the theater I had a change in perception in the existence of capitalism and it's effects on marginalized indigenous peoples of Latin America. I believe this movie is the seed that was planted in my heart and mind that spouted a desire to inform myself and understand social injustices.

I hope you come back so that we can both explore these things and reach symbiotic enlightenment =)
